Mckenzie Thorpe and Rob Hefferan both have the ability to produce
artwork that is almost inseparable in style. Rob Hefferan is a talented
artist in the 'traditional' form with special skill in both figurative and
animal studies. Hefferan revels in the opportunity for exuberance,
creativity and imagination offered by working in the contemporary field.
When developing this range of fine art images, Rob worked to recapture the
naivety and joy of infancy. By immersing the viewer in a childlike
perception of the world, he hopes to put him or her back in touch with
their own youthful innocence. His, is an art form designed to bring
happiness into a room.
Inspiration comes from
a whole variety of sources and Rob says that each of the styles he
develops tends to evolve from several ideas. Rob Hefferan learns from
everything from Old Masters to contemporary artists but his quest is
always for originality. Although he works predominantly in chalk pastels
and acrylics, Hefferan is skilled in all art media and happily mixes them
to achieve innovative new effects but the comparison to Mckenzie Thorpe is
both inevitable and poignant.
